Restaurant bewertenDuring these uncertain Covid times it was lovely to dine in at this restaurant. Being a Wednesday night it was a comfortable experience, atmosphere was friendly and the food was delicious with a variety of dishes including extensive vegetarian options. The service was very good and food arrived at the right pace. We will certainly be making a return visit.
Too many times Indian food is the same sauce with different meats added. Not at Zaika. For me the test of good Indian is in the palak paneer. It should be rich, thick full of delicate flavours. Zaika nailed it. Plus all our other dishes ordered were delicious and layered with spices flavour. Zaika has since become a favourite never disappoints. A real Bayside gem.
Thankfully, normal service has been restored to Bayside 's number one Indian Restaurant. Well, almost. Strangely, Sunny is still front of house but has proved to be a most warm and personable host. Entrees are back to their inimitable best: Samosas have that pastry perfection and the heat that was formerly a bit over the top has been tamed. The Chicken Tikka is beautifully cooked and presented and of a generous portion size. The Chicken Vindaloo has not yet reached the former heights in flavour but is still an outstanding dish. Other curries, as informed by my dining companions, are as good, if not better than before. Naan too is well cooked, crispy and hot. It is again a pleasure to dine at Zaika and it will continue to be a go to venue, hopefully for many years to come.
I have been coming here for years, I love it by far the best Indian I have had so much so that I now live in Mornington and I travel just to eat this food. The owners and operators are such wonderful people, so friendly. The food is out of this world the flavours are magical. Highly recommend.
This restaurant has been around for many years and it is not difficult to see why friendly, owner run, excellent food and good service. The wide range of dishes makes sharing a great option but keep your eyes open for the specials. On a recent visit we tried both the goat curry and the tandoori mushrooms and they were both memorable.
