Hartz Chicken Buffet - Baytown

I haven't been to Hartz in probably 20 years because I preferred Popeyes and Kroger deli chicken. Well neither of their chicken is good anymore so I decided to try Hartz again. It was so bad I could not finish it. The breast meat wasn't white and myhusband thought I was upset because I was given a thigh. The meat, especially the wing, was bloody looking and the bones wererancid looking. Neither piece tasted good and made me nauseous. I wish I knew what manufacturers are doing lately to bring usinferior chicken. I guess I will be frying my own. I was going to feed it to my dogs but changed my mind.

Very clean little family run restaurant. Very nice buffet with a few not so typical items. The cooked okra dish and the dirty rice are two of my personal favorites. I love the baked chicken and really like the fried chicken livers. Wonderful service andsuper sweet family that runs it

I absolutely love her fried gizzards! They really know how to season their food. Many of their competitors’ chicken dishes lack the seasoning that makes a difference.

The food was delicious and served hot, and the customer service was satisfactory.
