Restaurant bewertenWe stopped here by accident for a photo op of Confederation Bridge. The lady working in the shop was very informative. Bought a cute little snowman pin here - nice souvenir to remember our stop. Restrooms are eco-friendly - a bit weird.
Nice displays of the local wildlife, and lots of info on the area available. Easy to get too, just before the bridge to PEI
Stopped here for a late lunch on the way to PEI. There are two buildings: the first houses a gift shop and toilets, the second a restaurant, nature and history interpretation area, and more toilets. The restaurant block closed at 16:00 on the day of our visit (the Sunday before Labour Day) but we weren't rushed by the staff on arriving at 15:30. The server was a nice lady and seafood chowder and quiche were good. Outside there's a viewing platform and a number of paths across the island. Specimen plants are clearly labelled. One path goes to the lighthouse which has recently been moved inland due to coastal erosion. The food was much better than the fast food chain garbage in the UK and the chance to stretch the legs properly was most welcome. It's the only motorway services I've ever felt inclined to linger at.
Had a tasty lobster roll and clam chowder for lunch. Lobster was succulent and came with potato salad. The potato salad was better than some of the potato salad we had in PEI. Clam Chowder was equally creamy and generous with clams. Would highly recommend checking out this place. It feels so rewarding to have delicious food after a long drive.
Came to Charlottetown for a family trip and wanted to find a place to take picks and see the Confeferarion Bridge. THIS IS THE PLACE!! The trails are maintained really well and the restaurant has great homemade food and reasonably priced. We had: The Lobster...More
