Restaurant bewertenI give this place a 5-star rating, because I unfortunately had a grim person in my party. Nevertheless, the waitress was still very sweet and understood when we had to go fast. The food was great and the portions were nice. The only thing I have is that the place was extremely packed and there was only one waitress and one cook who worked there today. This is a lot of work for only two people.
Every time I decide to eat in a facility that has no Drive Thru, I know that the service and food will take some time. The quality and part of the food is good. There is usually only one server that is also the checkout. She works hard and the food is hot when it hits the table. I am pleased to support the local, independent restaurants and to understand the quality needs time.
Great little dinner. The Country olmlet is huge. I had half for breakfast then my hubby and I shared it the next day. Friends had french toast and left full and happy. Definitely will return. Fun server too.
The omelettes were great, hashbrowns and patties. Wasn't huge fan on the french toast or scrambled. Atmosphere was definitely a minimalist operation, could use some work inside. For not even knowing the place existed, I'd make another trip just for the omelette.
I went to lil chef cafe this morning for breakfast with my younger brothers who I seldomly see. We each ordered a different menu item. Their food looked wonderful and neither of them had any complaints. I on the other hand ordered the southern omlett with extra crispy hash browns expecting a tasty breakfast from the description. What I received may just be the most unappealing plate of food I 've ever had the misfortune of ingesting. My plate was huge and the entire meal was drowning in a loose sausage gravy that tasted like it came out of a very cheaply produced can. Also my extra crispy hash browns were drenched in this foul brew of gravy which try as it might couldn 't hide the fact that the potatoes were under cooked and the onions in them were burned. Inside the omlett was more of the undercooked potatoes and burned onions but with the added flavor of burned sausage that really just tasted like burned Hamburger. Seeing as I wasn 't being asked to pay for this meal I decided to forgo embarrassing my siblings and ate without complaint while quietly planning on calling the store after I had left, not ask for free food or a refund but to just let the management know of my poor experience. Seeing as I have about fifteen years experience in the service industry including management in a local breakfast reasturant and general management of a corporate food chain I would welcome criticism of improperly prepared food during my tenure (quality control ground zero ... Yet four calls later and no one has answered the phone. I 'm resorting to this review to hopefully gain the attention of someone of authority. I expect a little more effort from an eatery who has a large banner testifying to the fact they serve the best breakfast in Battle Creek I can honestly say I will not plan on coming back anytime soon. Thank you for your time and attention. Further more and in conclusion I find it very unusual that the phone hasn 't been answered in hours yet they advertise takeout food in this very Google summary. I 'm confused how a person would order takeout when no one is willing to answer and take an order... From an outside perspective I 'm urging the party or parties who claim ownership to extensively evaluate and reassess the team they have representing their brand. (Update: that day uncalled a total of nine times throughout their scheduled operation hours and twice in the thirty min after they closed. Never was the phone answered and inhavebyetbtonbe able to communicate my discontent. It 's really starting to work me that a reasturant could be ran this way. It makes me wonder seriously about their food safety of the place if the most basic of customer relations could be mishandled.
