RUN do NOT walk and check this place out. Beautiful lake views, VERY personable Chef get the make your own burger (6oz was bigger than we thought it would be) and was cooked to order (cooked exactly as specified). The beef patty was seasoned with some sort of magic it was really good. Chips were standard with the burger, or fries (which we already had for an appetizer), so I got the onion rings. We were so full all four of us took home leftovers. We should have ordered dessert. The dessert menu had Tiramisu and two other choices. Too full... Wait... wrapped cinnamon rolls w/frosting? We're thinking that it will be similar to a very famous U.P. restaurant/bakery that is on top of a Hill nearby. Wrong. THE CINNAMON ROLL is AMAZING. I will request any person who travels through the area to stop in and buy as many as possible for me. The dough has a pleasantly sweet flavor that enhances the spice, not masking it. I tasted a hint of almond extract was it the sugared filling? The frosting? I don't know, and I am too busy scarfing this down so that I don't have to share it with anyone. Go get one.

Just drove 7 1/2hrs with 3 tired kids to just stand in the lobby and can't find a worker.... I even put an estimated arrival time on our reservation and was only 10mins off of that. Literally have been standing in the lobby for 30mins and we have a funeral to get to in the morning. I'm HIGHLY disappointed and too tired for a hotel to be ran like this.

It 's not a horrible place, but I don 't think my family and I will eat here again. We came to the UP for the 4th of July and ate here because we 're staying in the hotel. The menu was paper, which makes sense because of Covid, and there wasn 't much to chose from. I ended up splitting a 12 thick crust pizza (which was the thinnest thick crust I 'd ever seen) and asked for some veggies on half of the pizza but once we got the food, my veggies weren 't there. When we asked about them, they said they didn 't have any, which wasn 't a big deal because the pizza WAS good, but it was a little inconvenience cause we still ended up paying for the veggies. I did end up getting a complimentary cheesecake because of this and have yet to try it. Other family members ordered a grilled chicken salad, which was pretty big and overall good, but they said the chicken was pretty dry. The wait staff weren 't the friendliest, but they weren 't blatantly rude either. Just my experience! I 'm sure it 's a different experience for everyone.

It's not a fancy place, but it's consistently a great choice for breakfast and lunch. The rooms are tidy and straightforward, and the views of the lake are fantastic. The outdoor patio is lovely when the weather is nice.
