Restaurant bewertenMy wife and I recently visited Spain, andorra and France for our vacation. after leaving from perpignan, we drove the coast down towards tossa de mar, Spain. during the journey we stopped seeing on the way and decided to lunch in...Banyuls-sur-Mer when we came to the small beach resort town, we saw a series of restaurants along the street on the beach. la marenda looked really nice with tables and sunshades right next to the beach. the prospects of our table were amazing. our server came by and took our order for a few amstel beers and bought us a bowl oliven to get...A nice touch....We ordered a marghareta pizza. the pizza was also really good. all in all, we both enjoyed our fast lunch in la marenda in Banyuls-sur-Mer and you will.
We had lunch here a few days before Christmas. the service was ok, a few more smiles from the server would have been nice. the pizza was really good, also the cafe-gourmande. we didn't like the sangria at all, but he took him back without complaining! not at the upper place, but ok for a lunch.
If it wasn't for the location you just wouldn't bother. Sat a table 45 minutes later we got a menu. Placed an order and another forty minutes before our drinks arrived. Being so close to the Spanish border we adopted a very relaxed attitude...given it was almost two weeks into our Mediterranean coastline holiday but this place takes the biscuit too far. Staff all too young inexperienced to be pretending they know what they are doing. Don't bother, lots of options around. Location is everything when there is not much else on offer!
We ate at this restaurant several times The staff was very friendly and positive The food was fresh and flavorful.
What a terrible place. Service: really poor, we arrived, was seated and given the menus. Another couple arrived and were instantly given a drink. We ordered and their food arrived before ours, guess they don't like foreigners. The food: it couldn't have been any worse. We ordered a trio of gambas between the two of us then a spiced salmon tagliatelle and muscles with cream. The gambas must have well past their use by date as all you could taste was rotten fish. The salmon was a disgrace over cooked and well over spiced, why do you need to hide the wonderful taste of salmon? The muscles....... well I can only think they were under cooked or just not cooked at all, they were white and not the orange they should be. Most weren't even open......what a shame. I also think the price was a rip off to
