Sovereign View Restaurant

The food at this restaurant is incredible and the service is excellent. It's definitely the best I've ever had.

The service at this restaurant was slow and somewhat disorganized, as the staff behind the counter appeared unsure of their roles. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was lacking, with surfaces and tables not being very clean. Despite the lack of customers, the toilets were quite smelly.

Food was cold and had obviously been sitting for a while not all food on the menu board was available. Staff were lacking in attention.

Unfortunately this place let us down. It advertised on a huge banner, that we noticed while driving past, kids eat free 7 days a week. Who doesn 't want to save on kids meals? So venture in we did. Of course I 'd expect it would be order a main and get a kids free. We ordered two mains, garlic naan, two kids meals and alcoholic beverages. The bill arrived we were charged for a kids meal. I asked for an explanation, I asked for the poor waitress (the only person rushing around) to clarify with the elusive owner and then as a last resort we asked to speak to him with the response, 'He 's stepped out '. Mmm, well throw the waitress under the bus and we could tell this wasn 't the first time. It isn 't about the money but nobody likes unfair advertising, especially without the decency of following up yourself rather than letting the waitress take the heat. I 'm now not surprised the place was dead on a Saturday night. If the advertising was fair and it had an owner/ manager with customer service then I think this place could do really well.

The restaurant had been visited some time ago and appeared to be mostly Italian, however there seemed to be a change in the feeling within the restaurant with few diners, and one couple walking out as they wanted a simple steak and chips. The order of a prawn cocktail was advised as being unavailable however a variation of this arrived with hot prawns rolled in something green and served with crunchy avocado. The main meals were average and the experience somewhat disappointing despite the waitress being very helpful yet on her own to manage the whole restaurant.
