Restaurant bewertenI have attended many events at katys and the venue never dissapoints. I can't comment on the food, as I've never tried it, but in terms of service, venue and view.....this place is incredible!!!!
'Katy 's Palace '... when I first heard this Hmmmm, I thought to myself 'A Palace in Kramerville, Sandton! Not a chance! '<br/ <br/ ...<br/ Once upon a time in a suburb far far far away...having drinks I was with friends I met in Eastgate. We later agreed to meet again and seeing that one of the ladies and I lives in the Northern Suburbs...to be fair I enquired?<br/ 'Where should we meet? '<br/ The answer from the group was 'Katy 's Palace , this Thursday! '<br/ Weird was my thoughts, a week night and at a Palace named after Katy, wow ....how very interesting.<br/ <br/ Needless to say I found out I lived a few kilometres away and never heard of Katy 's Palace, yet my newly found friends; one from Bedford View the other from Midrand and Bryanston; knew all about this place ...oops Palace!<br/ <br/ I just had to try this out...and So I asked my best friend Google for information about this Katy 's Palace.<br/ To my surprise it does exist, 3.5 odd kilometres from the very famous New 's Cafe Sandton you will find Katy 's Palace. Travel on Rivonia Road towards Rivonia, right on South Road... down the hill and then up the hill, a short right on Desmond Road...you will see all the cars and presto, you have arrived at Katy 's Palace.<br/ You will find an old car outside with the name Katy 's Palace imprinted on it... A rather odd Palace and car!<br/ <br/ Seems like another adventure awaits me...<br/ <br/ Walking through the rather odd entrance you find yourself having to climb up a few steel flights of stairs, I couldn 't but wonder 'what on earth am I in for? This is a particularly odd Palace! '<br/ <br/ Passing the first level, I notice an antique shop...<br/ ' I 'm not asking questions here! This feels a bit like a movie setting in China town '<br/ <br/ Second floor and ..... 'ok, this is cool! '<br/ It 's almost as if you walk into a warehouse with people sitting in groups around tables, like a fish market but no fish.<br/ A live band and wow this was just such a chilled environment...<br/ Who would have thought?<br/ Kramerville was not a place I 'd expect to find this hidden gem aka Palace.<br/ <br/ It 's something different, my friend and I ended up sharing an enormous table with total strangers.<br/ Fantastic way to meet people, the waiter gets to you and yip...drinks and giving you just a few minutes to realise where you are and try to make sense of what is happening.<br/ <br/ So I decided to walk around...<br/ <br/ There is a full bar in this incredible warehouse or 'Palace ' overlooking southern Sandton.<br/ The food section is very interesting.<br/ All the foods are displayed on tables kinda like buffet style. You select your meal then stand in a que, walk towards the pay point and presto! DONE<br/ You pay just for the foods you filled your plate with, how cool is that?<br/ Anything from salads to meats, chicken or a curry....it 's all just displayed. You choose it, they weigh it and you pay for it! Oh and eat it....<br/ Sounds too simple<br/ <br/ Great concept for parties, groups of friends getting together and instead of going 'Dutch ' on the bill or sorting out all kinds of awkward admin, you just pay for what you eat!!!<br/ <br/ Brilliant... plus views, dancing, live music, space space and more space...Katy got this right!<br/ <br/ Best way to explain this outing is...<br/ Sandton 's CHESA NYAMA but done Katy 's style.<br/ <br/ Bonus is almost every night there is something happening here, and on the first Sunday of every month they do an awesome lunch...the one I accidentally walked in on...<br/ <br/ So you northern suburb folks, be adventurous, daring go see a Palace near you... The one and only 'Katy 's Palace '.
2017-11-12Love the antique feel of the place. It feels like returning to nature. I attended fry's vegan foods function AGM, and I'm in love with the food!!
A very popular venue.I came for Tropical Sunday event and it was packed.A buffet of food awaiting more sweet tasting savoury dishes to suit tropical theme, prices were good but live music and atmosphere made the event worth it as was alot of fun
A lovely little South American spot bar in Kramerville. It’s for quick eats or a catch up session with your friends. The menu is limited but lovely. I had the nachos and the spicy chips. What I loved the most about the chips is that is was hand cut and fried and tossed in the most delicious spice. This little gem transports you to the heart of Colombia. The atmosphere was electric and the decor just outstanding and so unique.
