Restaurant bewertenMaybe we had too high of expectations for a restaurant affiliated with Bacchanalia, which we absolutely love, and maybe we are just spoiled by the amazing food scene in Atlanta, but what a disappointment. The food was good but not great, and our waiter David was inattentive and we never saw him from the time we ordered to the time we paid the check which was delivered without even asking about our meal. This was a management fail and we won't be back. We are sensitive to the strains of running a restaurant during this challenging time but there are too many wonderful culinary options getting it right and seem to care about our experience.
I fell in love with this hidden gem!!!! This little gem is hidden in the back of a court yard down a side road. Definitely wasn't expecting a restaurant to be tucked away. Who would have known they have been here for 20 years!!! As my husband and I entered, we were both blown away at the beauty of the restaurant. Very simple decor but nice. Clean lines and neutral colors. The selection on the menu would please even the pickiest eater. There is definitely something for everyone. I ordered the wood smoked octopus with pole beans. My husband ordered the Wood Oven Roasted Loup De Mer (fish) dish and salad. The dishes weren't overly complicated but the taste was amazing. Absolutely delicious
They served some initial bread with olive oil that was bursting with flavor. I just wish the bread had been warm, as that would have made it easier to chew. I wasn’t a fan of my drink, the "Dressed to Kill," so I would probably choose something else next time or skip drinks altogether. I appreciated the creativity behind the celery bitters, but the "Body Double" drink also wasn't to my taste. On a positive note, the Brussels sprouts were delicious; I just thought a sprinkle of flaky sea salt on top would have made them even better. The entrees were quite lovely! The Chicken Schnitzel was very flavorful, and it paired beautifully with the apples and ricotta. The Braised Lamb Gnocchi was outstanding! The gnocchi was pillow-soft, and the sauce combined with the lamb was absolutely heavenly. However, I did find the dish a bit too salty after a while, but I’ve been told I’m sensitive to salt, so that could be just me. Overall, I loved both main dishes. For dessert, the Gateau Victoire and Strawberry Hand Pie were both fantastic. I highly recommend trying any variation of the hand pie; the flavors are amazing, and the crispy shell is unique. I’m a big fan of flourless chocolate cake, and the Gateau Victoire did not disappoint, especially with the whipped cream — so good! Now, some drawbacks: while the cushioned seats were comfortable, they lacked lumbar support and were angled almost at 90 degrees, making it tough to find a comfortable position. The servers were friendly, but the service was a bit slow. I suspect it might be due to a shortage of staff (seriously, let’s pay servers more!), but our server was incredibly kind and thoughtful. Since we were celebrating, the Gateau Victoire was complimentary! Overall, I’d definitely eat here again, and I also love that the menu appears to change regularly!
This restaurant is a local place. The food is average and above average in cost. I had the salmon and vegetables, one of my dinner companions had the pizza Rosa and the other companion had the crispy pork schnitzel. The salmon well prepared, the pork schnitzel was good and the pizza Rosa was judged to be average. The beet salad with goat cheese was a shared appetizer and was quite good. It was fresh beets that were marinated in a savory mixture and served with a soft, whipped mildly flavored goat cheese. There was no bread service at all (yes, a French restaurant with no bread! . The desserts were good; I had the pound cake and my companions both had the chocolate cake, no complaints here. After dinner coffee was offered in a French press and had a good body and flavor. One dinner companion had a cocktail which she enjoyed, but I do not remember the name and my other dinner companions had a glass of white wine, which she too enjoyed. The dinner lasted two hours mainly due to slow service and long wait times between courses. The meal felt skimpy and I left a bit hungry. I doubt I will make this place a regular dining experience.
Excellent food and service! Ellie was our server. Great job! We ordered the octopus and crab so so good! I had pasta and my husband had the bass.
