Starland Pizzeria And Pub - Athens

We have been coming to Athens on occasion for years now and have never run into this pub. The wait was short even though the pub seemed packed, we really enjoyed our food, and our waitress did her job well. Food-We started with the house hummus and seasonal veggies and pita for the appetizer and it was delicious. The waitress told us they make it in-house and that the night's hummus was a sweet potato red pepper hummus. Best homemade hummus we have ever eaten! For our entrees, we ordered the jalapeno bacon burger and the bougie bird sandwich, both with Belgian fries and raspberry ketchup. The burger was great. The meat tasted fresh, the garlic aioli and cheese went well with the jalapenos.

The small order of Belgian fries with raspberry ketchup was an extremely affordable and generous portion! Perfect for a college student on a tight budget dining out with friends. The service was also excellent.

The grits were not as good as expected, so I would recommend going to another restaurant instead, unless your friends are insistent on going there.

There are very limited vegan options available at this restaurant. The buffalo tofu taco is small and the veggie burger falls apart easily. The waiter mentioned a potential vegan version of the ruben sandwich, but I did not try it. I do not recommend this restaurant for vegan diners.

Burgers were good but fairly expensive for what you get.
