Brookhaven Market - Arlington Heights

This store is clean, well organized, and filled with exceptional items from near and far. The number and variety of great products is a sign of how dedicated the owners and staff are to offering what the big chains don't have. Prices are very good, too. The bakery counter is the best of any store.

I 've been shopping here for over 20 years. After the 2 previous ownerships the new owner-run Brookhaven Market is nice because the store is cleaner and you can buy organic products at a better price. But one of the cashiers at #2 around 12:30 was very rude. She made a mistake while she input item info during the transaction so I kindly told her the item is different and then she became offensive staring and saying one second . I patiently waited but nothing changed so I told her there is a price difference between the two items and then she almost yelled at me finish staring which means she commanded me to finish payment and go. So I bought the item at half the original price by her insist. As I was paying I just remembered her look that she was the cashier who worked for Vallie and very rude when I bought cucumbers back then. I clearly remember what happened that time. I was buying organic cucumbers and she input regular cucumber in the POS. At that time her attitude was exactly the same as this time. I think when there is more than 1 item code under the same name, that makes her stressed out and if the customer is minority than she doesn 't do self-control. She is rude until other customers get in line behind you. When other customers are around, she acts so pitiful making you look like you are mean to her. Enough!

When the owner of this store has been changed it’s started look much better! Finally I don’t feel bad smelling when I’m entering inside the store and everything looks much cleaner and it have a fresh scent! All vegetables and fruits are clean and fresh. Also I love that they have some European products . Recommend!

I stopped shopping here when the new owners and store came about. The prices are insane and the best part about the old store was the deli. I stopped in one day to find all the deli meats I used to buy literally for years gone. What was great about Valli/Value Fresh was the prices on the lunch meats and pasta salads. They got rid of all of their old meats and are only carrying Boars Head which as we know is very expensive. The issue I have is this is almost the only thing they are carrying. On Saturday and Sunday mornings you couldn't even walk in the deli area for their prices. We stopped going here months ago and will not return. Again the prices are out of control and the new owners have literally sabotaged what was a great little affordable deli. So frustrating...

I like this store because I can find everything I'm looking for, both international and national, everything is very good and the deli is very tasty, all the food
