Restaurant bewertenThe food at this restaurant was good. The salad had a generous layer of salami on it. The pizza was decent, although it wasn't as brown on the edges as I had expected and remembered it being. Overall, it was good pizza. The service was good, but not the best. It took about 10 minutes to get a beer, but that was probably not the waitress's fault. She seemed busy helping someone with the menu, indicating that the restaurant had many customers. I deducted 3 stars in the service category because of the wait time, but again, it was not the waitress's fault.
First time we visited Michigan we tried Buddy's in Grand Rapids and were blown away, so of course when visiting Ann Arbor we had to go again. We ordered a meat lovers and man were we disappointed! It was nothing like the last one we had. Crust was sad andbarely there. Sauce was cheap and flavorless and the meat all seemed old and stale. I'm pretty sure last time we ordered itthere was pepperoni, so I'm not sure if they forgot it or what. Staff seemed bored to be there. Last Buddy's visit for me!
The atmosphere and service at this restaurant were really fantastic. The food was good, but nothing extraordinary - although we didn't try their famous pizzas, so that may be why. The service was top-notch - efficient and friendly. Overall, I would recommend this place.
You must try the original Detroit Style Pizza at Buddy's when in Ann Arbor! The crispy, buttery crust, delicious cheese, flavorful sauce, and perfectly balanced toppings make for an excellent taste. The service was fantastic as well. While there may be better local Detroit Style Pizza options closer to downtown, Buddy's is a staple and we definitely enjoyed our experience there.
Buddy's pizza, oh man... a Detroit original that has only gotten better throughout the years. Pizza is always off the hook, beers were cold and the staff friendly. We will definitely be back for more of these slices.
