Restaurant bewertenBest place for a quick and cozy lunch. I love their rice bowls. Even has multiple gluten free desserts!
Yak Yeti has both a cafe and a restaurant, but only the cafe on Northern Lights is currently open. The GF items are not marked on the menu, but several of the items are GF and the staff will tell you which ones are if you ask. The Potatoe Leak Soup is simply the best soup ever to exist. But you will probably have to tell them not to include the crackers, even if you've already mentioned you're GF. They have GF bakery items next to the register. I've tried the dragontails and the choc mousse both are good. But their GF bakery items are prepared in a kitchen that is not dedicated GF, so there's a risk of cross contamination.
$3 for one cup of plain rice?!?! Did they have to go out back and harvest it out of the patty?! Maybe that’s what the workers were doing instead of knowing what’s on the menu and its ingredients. If I’m going to pay that much for rice then where’s the rest going? Not into any decor besides the sound of banging pots accompanied by “music” that sounded like nails on a chalkboard slamming around a barren room of cafeteria tables. 1.5 cups of water with yellow daal is not worth it. I had only been to a Yak Yeti twice before and had distinctly and memorably not liked the food. It had been a long while so I gave it another shot. Three strikes, you’re out.Dietary restrictions: For such a small menu, they should probably know what dishes have allergens or not.
Fantastic place! They have amazing food but if you're on the go, they also have a great selection of pastries and desserts that you can take with you. The chocolate mousse here is one of the best mousse desserts I've ever had. They also have a homemade version of an oreo cookie that is gigantic! If you get this huge cookie, maybe think about sharing it with a friend? The dragon tail pastries are sort of like an almond cookie and very good with a hot cup of chai. Their chai tea is also amazing! Whether you want lunch, a togo meal, or a pastry with hot chai, then Yak Yeti is definitely worth checking out. Oh, and their turmeric bread is wonderful too!
Staff is welcoming, plenty of sitting space, tables not so clean and the food is alright. We ordered chana masala bowl which was alright and a chicken tikka masala bowl which we didn’t finish because the chicken didn’t taste fresh.
