Restaurant bewertenWe used this restaurant several times on our long winter stay here in the Costa tropical, for 5.85 u get a three course meal, not bad. All our meals were good except our last one. My wife ordered one ton soup, it was file to say the least, my hot and sour was good as usually it is, but our chop suey was not of a high standard. The service is excellent and we could not say anything except good , again linen type napkins which is always a good sign, at their prices we wonder how they make a prophet. They do a buffet on Sundays for about 7.50 and is again good value for money.
This little restaurant is located right across the street from the Playa San Cristobal. It has outside tables and inside seating. They offer a la carte, a Menu del Dia and a buffet that goes from 5.80 Euros to 7.50 depending on whether or not there is a festival going on. The buffet wasn't open during our visit so we chose from the Menu del Dia. They also have two of those with different offerings on each one, one at 5.50 and the other at 7.50. I ate from the former and my wife chose the latter because it had a lot of duck selections. We both started with soup, hot and sour for her and chicken for me, both quite tasty. They serve this with Prawn crackers, which look like pieces of Styrofoam and are a staple in Chinese restaurants throughout Spain. No dried noodles here. Not bad but I miss my noodles. Our main entrees were fried rice with Shrimp and Hong Kong Duck for my wife while I had fried noodles with Chicken and Chicken with Mushrooms. Generous portions, edible but nothing special. The Hong Kong Duck could have had any kind of meat or no meat at all inside of it, all you could really taste was the coating and the slightly sweet slightly spicy sauce. We finished it off with ice cream, a strawberry/vanilla in a cup. Drinks were reasonably priced and the entire meal came to just over 20 Euros. Most restaurants along the beach jack their prices up for the tourist crowd but this restaurant is actually a bit less expensive than the other Chinese restaurants we have been to in Almunecar and none of the others offered a buffet. If you are at the beach and are looking for a cheap, filling meal this is one to keep in mind.
Going for lunch, really cheap to be next to the sea. Buffet with around 20 dishes, including soup, and dessert. Really good customer service.
I have eaten the regular meals here before but this is a review of their Є 7.50 all you can eat Sunday buffet. It's been going on for a while and apparently word has spread so it is pretty popular, that's good. What's bad is that they haven't adapted to the crowd so they fall behind quickly and can't catch up. I went in with my wife about 2 hours after it had started and there were only traces of food in the line. The waitress asked me what I was looking for since they were out of just about everything. I told her Duck since that was my wife's favorite and we waited while they made up a batch. Not only were they running out of food they also ran out of plates and silverware. Food would come out but as soon as it did the customers would clean it out. Meanwhile they were still seating more families. No apologies, no excuses, it was like they didn't even care as long as they were getting paid. After a while we just gave up, grabbed a few ice creams out of the freezer and left. This was hands down the worst meal we've had since moving to Spain. I would give this meal 0 stars. The 2 star rating is for the overall restaurant which I know does better on regular meals and takeout orders. I would avoid the buffet altogether but if you must go get there when it starts at 13:30. You may then at least get a plate or 2 before they run out.
Our last day in this great resort and the fridge was empty so we fancied a takeaway. Chino bienvenido was recommended by locals and the food was fresh prepared with Chinese respect demanding good ingredients. The place looked clean with side bay parking right outside. Watch out that fried chicken balls are dark meat with bones so specify breast if preferred and if you use the trip advisor location for sat nav its nowhere near the place! Good hunting
