Don Taco - Alexandria

This is a charming taco shop featuring a large bar and an upstairs seating area. The tacos were fantastic. I began with the bulgogi, followed by the blackened salmon, and finished with the surf and turf. In hindsight, I should have started with the salmon since it had the mildest flavor, but it was still delicious. I even ordered a second serving of the surf and turf! The portion sizes were generous, much larger than typical street tacos. The prices were reasonable for what you received. I was actually surprised by the amount of salmon since I expected less. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return!

I was really looking forward to dining here, and it did not disappoint. I started with the guacamole, but I found it lacked a bit of flavor. However, I moved on to the shrimp chicken taco, which was absolutely perfect for me. I will definitely be returning for more!

We were seated promptly and ordered our drinks, but they didn’t arrive until 20 minutes later after we had to ask the manager to check on them. During our 55-minute visit, we only saw our waiter twice, despite the restaurant not being busy. To place our food order, we had to track down a waiter from a different section. The tacos and other dishes we tried were quite bland and just average overall. The bar drinks were a bit weak for $12 each. While we didn’t voice any complaints, it was clear they were aware of our issues, as we received a $3 discount on our $55 bill. Based on past reviews, we had higher expectations for our experience.

Excellent eating. Top note margaritas, queso and tacos. friendly service, but a bit inattentive. in any case, much disappears over the place.

We ran about ten minutes too late for our reservation (party of 8), but they were grateful in the position to keep our table for us (it was a week night). that was delicious. we were looking for this restaurant for its gluten-free menu points (for my brother). dessert is not to be missed! the most impressive service was phenomenal. our waiter, giovanni, didn't miss anything. as a former server itself, I appreciate its attention to detail and recognized extraordinary service. really one of the best meals I enjoyed in a long time.
