Meals were overpriced and the steaks were over cooked. The sides are a joke 6 bucks for two fried pickles??? We had to beg for refills and we were practically the only couple there. I hated shelling out 50 bucks here when I can get twice as much food, cooked the way you order it, for a much better price at the Mexican place right down the road.
I used to love to go to Texastar to eat but, not anymore!! The service is terrible and the music is to loud. What happened to the nice quiet atmosphere? Does anyone in town own it or does someone out of town? Looks like it has no manager at all, employees laughing and playing like kids in a daycare. Looks like it doesn't matter to them if you come in to eat or not. I hate this, it is the only place left in Albany to get a fresh cut steak. I won't be going back.
I have given up on the CHAIN places for the independent. This steak is hand cut daily from never frozen Creekstone angus beef they said and I believe it. Simply good and prices are the same or lower than the frozen steak chains.
I waited 1 hour and 27 minutes for a hb and left. I could understand that they were busy, but the 2 men over the course of me came to me in 20-30 minutes and got their food (a order was a hb) and were two bites of the finish when I left. What's wrong with this art?
