Restaurant bewertenI had the pork katsu sandwich! It was filling, to say the least! The pork cutlet was very thick and sandwiched between two pieces of white bread and a slaw. It was like a fusion of Japanese and Western cuisine in a neat wrapper!
I had the honey walnut shrimp and it was AMAZING! I'm more of a savory guy than sweet but the textures crunchy walnuts, crisp slaw, soft shrimp with a little snap to them and soft bread. Don't even get me talking about the sauce! This may not be the best photo but you'll see what I mean about the textures. They were pretty busy that day but no line and the sando came quick. Tip your servers (order takers). They'll treat you nice.
Fast casual spot for chicken katsu sandos and plates. Delicious! Great
Came here 09/09/2023.Food:I got the Menchi Sando for $13.95. It is ground beef that is deep fried. The sandwich was good but I wish there was a bit more meat for the price. Pairs well with the complimentary sauce.Service:No tables, just a little counter that you can stand and eat at. It's a walk-up no service style.Ambiance:Grimy and dusty in the heart of Chinatown but puts out a pretty decent sandwich. Nothing too special imo.
Yum! I couldn't decide what to get for lunch so my friend and I split sandwiches at Katsu Sando and Wax Paper next door so we could have it all. We opted for the standard pork tonkatsu sandwich and it was very solid. I'm not a huge fan of when katsu sandwiches are drowned in tonkatsu/bulldog sauce, and was glad the sauce/katsu ratio was to my liking. The shokupan was also nice and fluffy. The storefront is also a small-ish Japanese-Korean superette and my friend introduced me to Korean barley soda, which was paired well with the meal. I'm looking forward to trying the ebi katsu sando next time I'm in the area.
