Restaurant bewertenThis restaurant is a lively spot right on the beach! While you're waiting in line at the bar, you’ll discover that you can actually sit at a table and have a server take your order. We found a lovely spot by the hedges with a great view of the greenery and the beach. The staff who took care of the tables were fantastic. You take a card with you to order additional drinks when needed, and they even addressed us by name when we asked for something else. We tried the fun rum cocktails, keeping in mind that Hawaii regulations limit you to two drinks maximum. If you want a stronger rum flavor, ask for a "rum swimmer" to enhance the taste – it's absolutely delicious! Although they don’t serve food here, there’s a deli-style place nearby where you can grab some items to bring to your table.
I miss the old location, but this is still one of my favorite spots in Waikiki. The service is excellent, and Geri is the standout staff member—she's been there for quite a while. Each time we visit, whether it's been a year or five, she remembers us and our drink preferences. They often have live music on a small stage; however, I’m not sure what the usual start times are since it seems to vary each night. If you're in the military, you can get a 20% discount on your bill.
This restaurant is located just a short distance from the beach, making it a perfect escape from the noisy beach crowd. It provides a peaceful atmosphere for those who prefer to enjoy a quiet drink in a laid-back setting. Conveniently situated near the Army Museum, it also offers discounted prices for military personnel and veterans. In the evening, you can enjoy tasteful music that enhances the ambiance. The prices are reasonable, making it a great spot to unwind with a drink.
This place will always hold a special place in my heart! The Garza is named after my brother who frequented this bar MANY times over the 3 years he lived on Oahu. They did an incredible job encompassing him in a drink. The bartenders were so friendly and quick. Came here almost every night to have at least one Garza. Even if you don't like grapefruit juice (which I don't) I would highly recommend trying!!
Best lava flow on the island and that is my hill to die on. This bar services both military and civilian customers. If you show your military ID or hale Kona room key you'll get the discounted drink rate, but even the non military prices are very competitive. There is live music many nights on the lawn, some tables have umbrellas if there's rain. Otherwise, it's very nice being outside. You can either order from your table or order at the bar. I prefer to order at the bar.
