Restaurant bewertenIt's been a few months since we went. The first time we went it was all amazing. But the second time was nightmare. My food was okay but my husband's steak had a weird smell and just looked off. He just wanted a new steak because everything else was find but they took it all. The second steak came out raw so we sent it back again. After it came back out, it was just right but the second he bit into the new shrimp they cooked, the shrimp was raw. He left the restaurant because he was so sick. I couldn't eat my food from just the problems with his. We paid and left. Just be careful when ordering steaks.
Food did not disappoint. Heard the food was awesome. A little surprised by the cheapness of the entry and dining area. Salad was puny, bread was not soft but prime rib was amazing!!!! You don 't come here for comfort or atmosphere. Nothing to wow you and it would take little effort for them to step it up. You come for the meat. This could be a gold mine if the owners cared but still, go for the prime rib.
Let me start by saying the food is excellent and I want to go back to try a Wagyu burger. I had the Steakhouse burger and would easily order it again. My wife had rainbow trout and said it was just okay. My mother in-law had a pork chop that was tasty, but a little too fatty. However, the service was noticeably lacking in organization. Most attempts to get our server's attention was futile. Lots of people seemed to wait a long time to get cashed out and/or seated. Servers looked sharp in their aprons. The lighting in the restaurant is terrible. No one looks good under cool LED lighting. The one warm light in the place didn't properly illuminate the awesome wooden Cleaver's sign it shined on. One wall has a long mirror that is intermittently covered by blue curtains with paintings for sale hung on the mirror parts. The dining room needs an overhaul.
They took us in within about an hour of closing, although there were 9 of us (we made a reservation), and the service was great. The food was prepared/cooked well and the cuts of steak were good cuts with good flavor. Definitely a great steak and great service at a great price. Will come back on our next vacation to this spot!
Everything was great leading up to the entrée was great. So a place that has the name Cleaver, you would think they would know how to cook a steak. This is wrong, there was no flavor to the steak besides the A1 sauce we asked for. The loaded potato was 2 slices of American cheese with 1 slice of bacon. I feel like they never have seen a salt shaker.I highly do not recommend this place.
