Restaurant bewertenFour of us had a fantastic dinner from the Vortheater menu. The two-course option, priced around £10, was excellent considering the quality of the food. We couldn't resist adding dessert, and the sticky toffee pudding was absolutely irresistible! Highly recommended.
Four of us visited during the week and opted for the special two-course menu priced at just £10.25. Usually, you'd expect a lower quality at that price, but that wasn't the case here. The food was just as good as the dishes on the regular mid-week menu, which costs £18.50 for two courses or £22.50 for three. The portion sizes were a bit smaller, but that wasn't an issue for us; we all had plenty to eat, especially with the delicious free bread they provided. For dessert, we all chose something from the 'tenner' menu, like the sticky toffee pudding for £3.95, or from the main menu, which featured desserts priced at £5.95. Everything was absolutely delicious!
We recently celebrated a birthday at the restaurant, and we were all delighted with our dining experience. The sirloin steak was particularly impressive, and we loved the miniature desserts. The staff was friendly and attentive, making for a very enjoyable evening.
This is a beautiful recreation and beautifully designed for a romantic, relaxed, meal. the main problem is that we all have the feeling that eating was nothing special and does not reflect the skill or taste that seemed to promise the menu. the wild boar was overlooked and the lamb tasteless and drab. it felt a bit 'home cooking' at a beautiful place so was a little down to so initially positiw.
Four of us went on a Saturday evening and from the moment we walked through the door we were well looked after. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the quality of the food and the house wine was excellent. This was our fourth visit and we will certainly return.
