Restaurant bewertenWhile passing through Ashby, we discovered Fuel in the back of the market hall and decided to stop in for a light meal. The menu caught our attention and we were impressed by the diverse and fresh ingredients in our wraps. Although it took some time for our orders to arrive, the food was delicious and healthy. We also enjoyed the soup that we ordered. It was a nice change to see handcrafted items taking time to prepare, as we are so used to fast food. We were happy to see that Fuel sponsors a local hockey team, showing their commitment to the community. We could see the appeal of getting takeaways for the office and would definitely consider returning for another visit.
Hi, I think FUEL is an interesting place worth visiting. I have been three times now, plus one occasion when it was closed! The first time I went with my daughter, we had a lovely smoothie and fruit pancakes which I highly recommend. The second time with my other daughter, I had a healthy slaw and some interesting beetroot tortilla chips with paprika, which we also enjoyed. With those two visits under my belt, I was highly recommending it and suggesting we should go back. However, when I went today with my partner and eldest daughter, I was a bit disappointed. The menu had grown and seemed more mainstream. We ordered a fuel breakfast, a vegetarian wrap, seasoned nachos, and a green Thai slaw. The food was overall good, but I was disappointed with the slaw and nachos. The nachos were just tortilla chips from a bag, and the slaw was plain coleslaw with no garnish. The waiter manager did ask if there was anything he could do, but I was unsure if there was. In conclusion, it was a mixed experience. I don't want to criticize the place too harshly for one bad experience, but I feel it's important to provide feedback. I recommend they make some changes to that part of the menu. If you're looking to try somewhere different, give FUEL a try, but maybe ask about the dishes before ordering. On a similar note, if you want somewhere different and interesting, try Sonny's Street Food in Loughborough.
I would not recommend this cafe, I visited with my 3 year old daughter and the owner is plain rude and patronising telling me can I not read a sign on a door on several occasions. Definitely one to avoid at all costs! I'm not normally a person to complain but felt compelled to in this case. Not a pleasant experience.
Located at the rear of the town hall market hall on Market Street. it 's both a sit-in and a take away with an emphasis on healthy dishes, but you 'll still find breakfast and burgers on the menu. The food we 'd ordered was tasty enough, but service was pretty dire and the meals (which were clearly reheats and not freshly prepared) took 20 mins to reach us.
I haven't dined in the restaurant yet (although I plan to do so soon), but I have used their takeaway service. It was a pleasant surprise to find a healthy and delicious takeout option that isn't all deep-fried. We ordered the veggie ramen soup, Thai green chicken curry with cauliflower rice, and the Crabocado wrap - all were tasty and delivered promptly with excellent service.
