Lotus Indian Cuisine - Calgary

Just ordered the takeout. Butter chicken was amazing and the beef vindaloo was hot and spicy (just how I like it). Definitely would order from here again.

We've done take out from here on three occasions in the past few months and have never been disappointed. Had the butter chicken, murgh lababdar, samosa and fish pakora in our most recent order. All of the dishes were great. The room looks well appointed and inviting; will have to dine in next time. This place is a hidden gem and well worth searching out.

This is a great addition to the neighbourhood, replacing the old Blue House café which shut its doors after many years. The Indian food is excellent and the service outstanding. We tried the Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak paneer (spinach), Aloo Gobi, garlic herb naan bread, and of course basmati rice, and loved all of it.  Great flavours. We'll be back!

Very interesting spot, seems out of place in a strip mall. The lunch buffet is really good, I'd like to come back for dinner. I like goat and it's interesting to see it on a menu in Calgary. I don't claim to be an expert on Indian food but I love the flavours and I know fresh when I taste (and smell) it. My only complaint is that it seems a little upscale for the neighbourhood but that's hardly a complaint.

I decided to try this restaurant tonight after reading positive reviews online, and it certainly lived up to the hype! The menu is so extensive that I’ll definitely need to return to sample more. We had the Afghani chicken skewers, which arrived sizzling on a hot plate with a delightful mint sauce, along with beef curry, butter chicken, and Navratna korma. My only issue was with the korma; it included frozen mixed vegetables, which I’m not a fan of, and it was supposed to contain homemade cheese, but we couldn’t distinguish it in the dish. Nonetheless, the flavors were incredible! The naan was the best I’ve ever had. The complex flavors were perfectly balanced, not overly spicy at all, and we will absolutely be back!
