Very fresh and tasty food; good ambiance and attendance; reasonable pricesand very quiet for couples!

Most of the restaurants in the historic downtown core seemed to close up after we arrived on the Easter weekend. The good news is is that Vera Cruz was one of the ones that stayed open. It is a real family place. My wife and I shared a dinner but it was way more than the 2 of us could eat. The food was tasty and well prepared and I'm almost embarrassed to say that our final bill for dinner and wine was 15 Euro. This is a great family owned place and it will hard to go anywhere else when we come back to Barcelos... which is a certainty.

What a great place 5 minutes from the station and next to the market. I love my salmon that was one of the best I ever had. The spinach type Vegi was far overhauled, but the staff was friendly and efficient.
