A highly anticipated restaurant inside of downtown's Kinley Hotel is delaying its scheduled opening, which was supposed to occur Thursday evening.

Khora, which was set to open at 37 W. Seventh St. on Oct. 22, will delay its opening until Monday, Oct. 26. A spokeswoman for the hotel said the postponement was caused by an unforeseen delay with the liquor licensing process.

Khora, which was named to Vogue's list of "2020's Most Anticipated Restaurants," aims to showcase the versatility and range of flours using grains from around the world taking its own name from Khorasan, one of the world's oldest ancient grains.

Khora's dinner menu will contain items like:

  • Gemelli “Cincy Style” made with Ohio Semolina grain, with lamb ragu, pumpkin seeds, caramelized goat cheese
  • Zucca made with toasted rye, with green apple, charred cabbage, pickled peppers, taleggio, black pepper
  • Milk Chocolate Mascarpone with elderflower pear sorbet, candied orange, almond financier

The opening team for Khora is Chef Kevin Ashworth, who has worked closely with James Beard Award-winning Louisville Chef Edward Lee for a number of years, as well as Pastry Chef Megan Ketover, formerly of Orchids at Palm Court, and General Manager Blair Bowman, formerly of the vaunted Eleven Madison Park, a fine dining Manhattan restaurant with three Michelin stars.

Khora will open with breakfast and dinner service, with its dining room hours from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Ashworth anticipates opening for brunch in the coming months, as well as lunch down the line.
